Genie in Japan

It Is Well

Okay, so I probably won’t get deported, but I have to start this visa process all over again…no worries.  Good times.

Guess what! I’m just $279 from my support goal! According to my contact list, God is using this network of 160 people to pray for and take financial ownership of this mission…imagine trying to work for and save up $16,500 on your own…crazy…but God’s cool because life is so much better, easier, fulfilling, and satisfyingly-delicious together. Thank you for being my friends, my family.  Where would I be without you?

My car died! My dad e-mailed today to give me the news that after twelve years and 175,000 miles, the Moon-mobile (a dark green ‘94 Explorer) will be laid to rest.  After some final wheezing, smoking, and lurching, the engine sputtered its last.  Writing this, I’m getting a little bit sentimental…so many memories in that car:  singing and dancing to Beyonce, only to have Guam get checked out by these gross dudes in the next car;  picking up and dropping off my brother, Davie, my church girls, JRB, and all the conversations in between; driving to the beach on my birthday, getting lost, getting angry…and now I’m getting a new car.   Five years moves fast.

I don’t know what to say! I’m coming to understand a lot of things that I didn’t understand before.  And that’s not to say that I’ve got it all figured out–just that I’ve figured myself out a little teeny bit more.   Crazy lady.

*Edit–More Adventures of GenieinJapan*
I passed out at the onsen today. Good times.
