Months ago, in the summer, I had lunch with a friend who lives in K-Town but took me to Louise’s Trattoria in Los Feliz. I had to post it because it was like Heaven in my mouth–the first time I found pasta in the U.S. worthy enough to match the pasta I had eaten in Italy.
I ordered the Italian Meatloaf which was juicy and absolutely delicious (also coming in a generous portion), which comes with steamed spring vegetables and creamy yet fluffy mashed potatoes.
My friend ordered the chicken fettucine, and I fell in love with Louise’s pasta. The fettucine was clearly hand-made, on-site, and was perfectly seasoned at the perfect thickness, cooked to a perfect, chewy al dente.
Service was also wonderful, and as an appetizer they serve this amazing, fresh-baked garlic and herb focaccia with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette.
I highly recommend this place, and if it’s warm outside, try sitting outside on the patio!!
